SO DISAPPOINTED in this place. I was born and raised in Seoul, so I know my Korean food. This isn’t it. This is some kind of American-Korean fusion, which might be ok to the people who doesn’t really know authentic Korean food, but if you’re looking for that flavorful, authentic Korean dish, stay away from here. We ordered spicy cold noodles, galbi, and squid stone pot bibimbap. They were ALL BAD- spicy cold noodles were so soggy/mushy and had starch taste, which means they didn’t wash the noodles well, which is a critical step of making cold noodles. The sauce was mediocre too, not much flavor. Galbi was the most disappointing, because they didn’t even cook it on the grill(which is a must). It looked like it was cooked in the oven or on a pan, unevenly. It wasn’t marinated very well either. It tasted soooo gamy and blend, I couldn’t finish it. And the squid dolsot bibimbap…. Wow, how do you mess that up too? The squid was so chewy and tough and the bibimbap sauce was so bad, store bought bibimbap sauce would’ve been much better. Only thing that was OK was the banchans. I’ve heard this place went down hill, and it was true. We will NEVER come back here and will tell our friends the same.
Delicious! Great service! Insanely big portions we barely finished any of it, but were so grateful to have leftovers the next day.
One of my favorite Korean restaurants of all time. Even after traveling to South Korea twice, I dare say Nakwon still ranks in my top three Korean restaurants. Having eaten here for almost two decades, the flavors at Nakwon have left such a lasting imprint on my palate that they’ve become the standard by which I measure all other kimchi and stews. The food is consistently excellent and never fails to amaze. Every time I take a bite of the stews or soups, it feels as though a world of happiness opens up and completely delights my palate. Even after nearly 20 years, that experience never gets old as every bite still feels like the very first to me. I highly recommend the seafood pancake, spicy tofu soup, and spicy beef rib stew.
As a Korean American who recently visited the home country last September, I can confidently say this is the best and authentic Korean Restaurant I’ve been to in Oregon! (Maybe even the PNW) Portions for each dish could easily feed 2-3 people! The service was wonderful, always felt cared for and always had enough side dishes handy! Even though there was a decent wait (30 mins so plan ahead, Saturdays are busy so expect a wait), their system of putting your name and number down made it easy enough. I love the vibes too, with all the framed photos of various Korean Culture like our ROK Soccer team and other traditional paintings! I cannot recommend this enough to anyone in WA or OR! You won’t be disappointed! 맛있었어요 meaning IT WAS DELICIOUS 👌
The Banchan here is amazing! The portion sizes are great too. We got the seafood paradise which had udon noodles, squids, crabs mussels etc in a spicy soup, a paradise indeed ! We also got chicken bibimbap which had the crispy rice at the bottom and was flavourful😍 Very good service and quality food served. The spice level was good! May be adjusted well for the country 😁they had a good vegetarian menu too😃
Very tasty food. Massive dishes.. feeds two easy.. even the "starter" dishes are very big.. for sure enough for a meal. Parking can be difficult on busy nights.. they also have outdoor seating. They also bring out a bunch of snack bowls of assorted items.. see pictures.
Home cook food - d BEST !!! If you have not tried it, what are you waiting for ? Seriously one of the best Korean meals around PDX metro. They do get busy so plan to be there early or wait in line. But it’ll be all worth it.
Nak Won exceeded our expectations. The food portions are large. The quality of food is great. The menu has a large selection. The service was super attentive and they hosted our dinner party well! The ambiance is not modern, or trendy but I still think it’s a good sit down! We enjoyed the dining experience and would recommend!
